According to a European Commission proposal, the EU will reopen to holidaymakers from countries with low COVID infection rates, such as the United Kingdom, as well as everyone who has been completely vaccinated, by the beginning of June.
With vaccination rates in EU member states growing “dramatically,” commission officials said it was time to soften regulations on non-essential travel while legislating to provide authorities the power to apply a “emergency brake” if necessary.
EU borders will be reopened by the beginning of June at the latest, according to authorities.
